Exciting opportunities to join our team!

The Trust seeks ambitious and motivated individuals to join the team. Kehelland Trust situated near Camborne, Cornwall provides a rural, horticultural setting for the support of young people and adults with learning and/or physical disabilities. Developing personal and social skills, individual opportunities and active participation in the local community.

Education Coordinator- Tutor Cover £13.45 per hour, 37 hours per week. All year round.

The Education Coordinator – Tutor Cover role is responsible for the implementation of processes concerned with the coordination of the education programmes.

  1. Responsible for staff recruitment processes for the department to include advertising roles, processing applications and onboarding new staff to include processing DBS checks.
  2. Responsible for the administration of our awarding body portal system for learner registrations and completions.
  3. Where skills allow, to undertake some department quality processes i.e., observations of teaching and learning, IQA of assessment plans and assessment.
  4. To cover any Tutor absences.
  5. To be responsible for the department social media presence not related to individual learner experiences.
  6. To ensure effective completion of course paperwork to include; learner enrolment paperwork, bursary forms and evidence, work experience risk assessment forms and risk assessments.
  7. Where skills allow, to deliver staff training such as risk assessment and first aid training.
  8. Gather department data into a meaningful format for audit and reporting purposes for the Senior Tutor and Training and Business Development Manager.
  9. Manage external work experience placements working with external agencies to include completion of start paperwork, risk assessments and event organisation for employer events. Carry out observations of external work experience placements.
  10. Represent Kehelland College part of Kehelland Trust at networking events and attend transition events alongside the Learner Experience Coordinator.
  11. To undertake general admin tasks related to the department and to direct the Learner Experience Coordinator to support with department admin tasks.
  12. To ensure your own practice and that of the staff team complies with safeguarding and child protection best practice and that any safeguarding issues are dealt with according to Trust Policy and Procedures.
  13. Manage physical resources.
  14. To undertake, when required, other duties not specifically mentioned in this Role Profile that are deemed reasonable for the level of accountability.

 

Senior Education Support Workers – £10.62 per hour  –  for our education programs.

This is a term time only post for 37 hours a week starting Sep 2022. Training and induction hours may be needed before starting in September. There are 3 Senior Education support worker roles available:

Senior Educational Support Worker – Bespoke programs  

The Senior Educational Support Worker has day-to-day responsibility for the bespoke provision.   

  1. To treat people with care, respect and dignity at all times. To always encourage learner independence.
  2. Supporting higher need learners.
  3. To line manage education support workers within the team, acting as the first point of contact. This will include completing appraisals and supervisions for education support workers.
  4. To assist with education processes as directed by the Learner Experience Coordinator which can include risk assessments, daily fire board, updating individual learning plans, completion of learner paperwork, assisting with EHCP reviews, creation of individual learner resources.
  5. To plan and deliver activities for individual learners attending bespoke provision
  6. To attend multi agency meetings for learner reviews
  7. Completing daily updates for parents and carers
  8. To report and inform the Site Manager of any faults or maintenance issues relating to the internal and external horticultural/educational areas.
  9. To always work within the Trust’s policy on the Protection of Vulnerable Adults & Safeguarding.
  10. You will need to be flexible in time and duties and location, as required by the service and individuals using the service.
  11. To undertake, when required, other duties not specifically mentioned in this Role Profile that are deemed reasonable for the level of accountability.
  12. To ensure that all records are maintained accurately and in line with the Trust Record Keeping Policy and Procedures.

Senior Education Support Worker

  4. To assist with education processes as directed by the Tutor which can include risk assessments, daily fire board, updating individual learning plans , completion of learner paperwork, assisting with EHCP reviews, creation of individual learner resources.
  5. To assist with the preparation and delivery of teaching and learning activities including extra curricular activities.
  6. Completing daily updates for parents and carers.
  7. To report and inform the Site Manager of any faults or maintenance issues relating to the internal and external horticultural/educational areas.
  8. To always work within the Trust’s policy on the Protection of Vulnerable Adults & Safeguarding.
  9. You will need to be flexible in time and duties and location, as required by the service and individuals using the service.
  10. To undertake, when required, other duties not specifically mentioned in this Role Profile that are deemed reasonable for the level of accountability.
  11. To ensure that all records are maintained accurately and in line with the Trust Record Keeping Policy and Procedures.

Senior Education support worker – Employment and Progression 

The Senior Educational Support Worker has day-to-day responsibility to support tutors with activities related to learners and the education program. The employment and progression senior education worker has responsibility for supporting employment and progression plans for learners.  

  1. To treat people with care, respect and dignity at all times. To always encourage learner independence.
  2. Supporting higher need learners.
  3. To line manage education support workers within the team acting as the first point of contact. This will include completing appraisals and supervisions for education support workers.
  4. To assist with education processes as directed by the Tutor which can include risk assessments, daily fire board, updating individual learning plans, completion of learner paperwork, assisting with EHCP reviews, creation of individual learner resources.
  5. Support learners at external work experience placements.
  6. Work with employers around how best to work with learners at external work experience placements.
  7. Plan and deliver weekly job club.
  8. Communicate with parents/carers around progression plans for learners.
  9. Work with external agencies around progression plans for learners.
  10. To assist with the preparation and delivery of teaching and learning activities including extra curricular activities.
  11. Completing daily updates for parents and carers.
  12. To report and inform the Site Manager of any faults or maintenance issues relating to the internal and external horticultural/ educational areas.
  13. To always work within the Trust’s policy on the Protection of Vulnerable Adults & Safeguarding.
  14. You will need to be flexible in time and duties and location, as required by the service and individuals using the service.
  15. To undertake, when required, other duties not specifically mentioned in this Role Profile that are deemed reasonable for the level of accountability.
  16. To ensure that all records are maintained accurately and in line with the Trust Record Keeping Policy and Procedures.

Learner Experience Coordinator – £11.72 per hour, 37 hours a week. All year round.

The learner experience coordinator has responsibility to ensure effective coordination of learner experience support for education programs.  

  1. To work with Tutors to arrange and complete EHCP reviews.
  2. Be the first point of contact to support learner mental health wellbeing.
  3. Be the first point of contact for learner/parent/carer support for issues that arise day to day.
  4. To support our social media presence – i.e. Facebook posts sharing learner experiences.
  5. To line manage education support workers within the team acting as the first point of contact. This will include completing appraisals and supervisions for education support workers.
  6. To ensure effective completion of processes, relevant paperwork, and tracking evidence to include learner voice forums, tutorials, contact notes etc..
  7. To work with the Senior Education support workers for Bespoke to plan bespoke programs and attend multi-agency meetings to review learner needs and progress.
  8. To support operational department tasks directed by the Education Coordinator such as petty cash, scanning files for audits, etc..
  9. Completion of internal and external safeguarding templates, with support from the education safeguarding lead.
  10. To plan and deliver transition plans for new learners to include familiarisation sessions at Kehelland and observations in the current setting to inform Individual Learning Plans.
  11. To plan and support learner visits and taster sessions for those interested in our provision.
  12. To attend transition events and represent Kehelland College part of Kehelland Trust at networking events.
  13. To work with learners where appropriate as part of learner experience activities and/or where there is a need to develop knowledge of learner strengths and needs.
  14. To work with Tutors to coordinate learner enrichment activities on and off site to include writing risk assessments.

Bank Education Support Workers- £9.90 per hour for our education programmes. Term time only.

The Education Support Worker has day-to-day responsibility to ensure that all tasks are carried out according to the needs of the learners and undertaking all Health and Safety responsibilities for these tasks. To provide all aspects of support for your group as detailed within the Individual Learning Plans.
