PLANTS: Beneficial Bugs for Biological Pest Control

02/05/2018 by Sally Pyner Leave a Comment

Thanks to the Cornwall Association of Woodturners for knocking up this giant frame that has enabled us to create the perfect beneficial bug residence.

Attracting certain insects helps us to control pests on our fruit and vegetable plants. Ground beetles that eat slugs. Lacewings, ladybirds and their larvae all munch on aphids (of any colour; they’re not fussy) and lots of solitary bees help us to pollinate our fruit and vegetable crops.

We sell smaller versions of bug houses with prices from just £6,  but would be happy to discuss any custom requirements should you wish to have a big hotel (or maybe it’s even a resort?) in your own garden, local school, orchard, allotment….Call us (01209) 718975.
