Our Trainees

Our Trainees

We have a fun, vibrant, cohesive and hard-working team dedicated to providing the best possible opportunities for those around us to thrive.

Our trainees are involved  in all aspects of our work across our 16 acre site, creating what feels like a truly supportive Community.

Just some of the activities we do on site:

Education & Training: Extensive Education Programmes for 18-25 year olds with an EHCP covering all aspects of life across our site as well as IT and classroom work, English and Maths provision.

Kehelland College Flourish learners

Horticulture: All aspects of gardening and growing- from garden planning and  sowing seeds to harvesting and packaging for sales and our kitchen team

Retail: Selling to the public, both on site and at markets and events.

Catering: We would not be such a happy team if it wasn’t for the delicious food that comes out of our kitchen! Planning and preparing meals, processing and packaging preserves, clearing up and managing the kitchen area for the benefit of the trainees, staff and any visitors to our site.

Maintenance: Our trainees have opportunities to gain valuable skills in the use and maintenance of tools and equipment on site with accredited training and certificates in mower care and use for example. Our maintenance team has a never-ending list of jobs across site and our trainees get involved in supporting them with these.

Events: Support for our trainees and learners to get involved in, or just enjoy, events across the year: Open Days, ChilliFest, Giant Veg Day, Apple Day and Wassails.

We also are lucky enough to be able to welcome experts in other fields to add diversity to the range of activities on offer:

Pottery, Jewellery, Kick-Boxing, Yoga, Fit-to-Wiggle dance, Knitting and Crochet to name just a few.
