PEOPLE: Reflections on 2021

23/12/2021 by Sally Pyner Leave a Comment

Our offices are now closed until Tuesday January 4th 2022.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been a part of life at Kehelland Trust this past year. We would be nothing without you all!!

This year we have lost dear friends…

,

….and welcomed new staff, learners, trainees & volunteers.

Alongside this we are delighted that the fabulous National Dahlia Collection, owned by Louise Danks, now graces a part of our site. From bare soil in May, there was an explosion of colour through the summer & autumn.

We have been fortunate enough to be able to start hiring the Kehelland Chapel Hall to provide a warm indoor space for activities with our trainees. This has proved invaluable and we have had the most wonderful team supporting our trainees on this site with fantastic activities. Thank you to you all.

Our site has continued to grow & develop. Along with our  kitchen garden, orchards, basket & bedding, protected veg, perennials, apple trees & native plants, we have begun an exciting new project supported by DEFRA to become a Community Tree Nursery. Watch this space!

We have continued to ‘get out there’! With our plants and produce. Supplying. Cornish Food Box Company, Helston Food Hub & Penny’s Tearooms along with restaurants like Rockpool & Greenhouse & wholesale customers and attending the weekly produce market in Camborne Square.

We hope that 2022 will see us welcome visitors back on site for our well-loved events like the Giant Vegetable Competition & Apple Day. Also watch this space for bespoke apple & orchard workshop dates throughout the year.We were lucky enough to be able to provide the venue for a small number of weddings this year and we hope this will continue into 2022.

Our very best wishes to you all for a Peaceful and happy Festive break, our gratitude to each and every one who has supported us and we look forward to seeing you all in 2022.

Our sales team will be on site preparing weekly Food Hub boxes on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Please email if you need any further information. sales@kehellandtrust.org.uk or follow the link below to order from our online hub.
