COMMUNITY: Apple Day

13/09/2018 by Sally Pyner 4 Comments

It is with very heavy hearts that we have had to take the decision to cancel our Apple Day. After 13 years of the weather being so kind to us, luck seems to have run out this year. With heavy rain and winds for the next 36 hours and the base wind speed staying close to 30mph throughout most of Saturday, safety has had to come first.

Our thanks to everyone who has been working so hard to get us to Saturday and for all the words of understanding and support as we have got in touch with people to tell them the news.

We will have to divert our energies to our 15th Anniversary next year to make it the best Apple Day yet.

Thanks Derek. We will be planning a fund-raiser of some sort in the coming months and will update the website. Needless to say it will involve apples, juice and cider and maybe a wassail….
